Nataša Kandić has been a dedicated human rights activist since her student days. Most of her projects and actions were implemented through the Humanitarian Law Center (Serbia), which she founded in 1992 and managed as the Executive Director until 2012, and Humanitarian Law Center Kosovo as current President of the Steering Board.
She currently coordinates the regional non-governmental fact-finding and reconciliation process known as the RECOM Process, dealing with human losses during the wars in the former Yugoslavia.
Her work made powerful local impact and prompted wide international recognition. She has won over 20 international, regional and national awards for human rights, just recently the ‘Hrant Dink’ award from the Turkish ‘Hrant Dink Foundation’.
